Correction of spelling mistakes

The AutoCorrect feature provides comprehensive lists of the most common misspellings of words.  Misspellings can include omissions, additions of incorrect letters, incorrect sequence of letters, misspellings due to inadvertent physical key hits, and also the user's genuine difficultly with spelling specific words.  In all programs, lists of words can be modified.  You can add words that you commonly misspell.

Glossaries of text substitutions include

  • Auto-corrections, Contractions (dont ......don’t),  Hyphenation (inplace......in-place),  

  • Misspelling (beleive......believe),  over 1,800 common English Misspellings. Misspellings will be automatically converted in all text entry contexts. 

  • Capitalizations,  Calendar Words (tue......Tuesday),  Organization Names (att......AT&T),  People’s Names (fred......Fred), Place Names (new york......New York).

  

AutoCorrect has three main options for correcting capitalization errors, typos, and spelling errors.  Note that if you’re using AutoCorrect to fix spelling errors, you also need to turn on automatic spell checking.

UltimaShell Professional  provides Autolearn and autocomplete words/phrases in ANY applications on MS Windows.
 		Type Pilot will automatically replace spelling mistakes with the correct spelling. You can add words and modify the list.   The program has 816 autocorrect entries which can be downloaded from their web site.
